28 Jul July Dolphin Fishing at Robbie’s in Islamorada
The Go Time July Offshore Fishing Report
What a great July Dolphin bite we’ve been having this year! The weather has really been cooperating with us so far unlike last year. Every trip has been a successful one with producing Dolphin and Tuna. We’ve been catching Dolphin only about 10-15 miles offshore but the big ones are about 20-30 miles offshore right now. We’ve traveled into Slammerland and caught some nice 30 pounders lately then we head inside to load up on Schoolies. With almost every trip averaging 2-4 people, we’ve managed to limit out on a lot of them! July is a great time to come down to Islamorada to catch Dolphin!
The Tuna bite has picked up a little bit lately. We’ve been hitting the Blackfins on the hump, nothing major in size coming in but come back in November when the bite for Tuna is red-hot!
If you looking to stay a little closer inshore for some Snapper, nighttime is the right time! The Mangrove Snapper are spawning right now and they are most active at nighttime. If you want to load up your cooler on a delicious meal than head out to the reef during the dark, you’ll be sure to catch your limit this time of year. The Spawn will continue until the end of July or beginning of August. So get out on the water and catch a cooler full!
